Experience Matters

Attorneys Stephen Rubino and McLaughlin & Lauricella, PC have, for decades, been at the forefront of the fight for the rights of victims who have been sexually abused. Their experience representing victims of sexual abuse goes back to the early 1990’s and before these atrocities became part of the consciousness of victimization at institutional-levels.

Have you been victimized and sexually assault by:

  • An authority figure?
  • A school administrator?
  • A coach?
  • A clergy member?
  • An organization leader?

Why Come Forward Now?

On May 13, 2019 Governor Phil Murphy signed into law a new bill giving victims who were previously denied justice two years to file civil lawsuits against their abusers and those who employed them or for whom they volunteered. This law applies to any victim regardless of how many years ago he/she was sexually abused.

After years of having the doors of justice closed to them, New Jersey victims of sexual abuse will now be able to hold their abusers and those for whom they worked or volunteered, accountable in a court of law. The new law just signed by the Governor, will give victims of sexual abuse, regardless of when they abused or their current age, two years to file an action commencing December 1, 2019. This law applies to any victim regardless of how many years ago he/she was sexually abused.
