These are strange times, indeed. We are living in the midst of an historic once-in-a-century pandemic at a time of unprecedented civil unrest.
We grieve for those whose lives have been upended by coronavirus, for those who have been victimized by abusive police tactics, and for those whose communities have been destroyed by the rioters and looters who have hijacked peaceful protests. Too many people lack access to quality healthcare while they work in jobs that place them at greatest risk for COVID-19. And now, those who have borne the brunt of abusive police tactics are living in the communities that have been ravaged by opportunistic looters and vandals. Martin Luther King noted that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”
As lawyers, we at McLaughlin & Lauricella are committed to the fight for social justice and will do our part to fight for those without a voice. We support the righteous protests of those fighting for social justice and stand with you against racism, abusive police tactics, and lawlessness.
